Optic is a small, versatile Belfast-based digital design collective. Brian, Danny and Jonny are studying MA Multidisciplinary Design and helping to teach Interactive Multimedia Design at the University of Ulster. They each bring their own strengths to the table. Individually they're great. Collectively they're great x 3.
With aspirations to work alongside other designers, studios and collaborative organisations; the Optic family will expand and contract on a project by project basis. Optic's agile structure allows for such flexibility. Expect to see the Opticians working together, in pairs, individually or with other members of the design community.

Thinking caps on. Beer in hand. Pencils at the ready. Let the brainstorming commence! This is when great ideas and hangovers of mammoth proportion are conceived.

We immerse ourselves in the specifics of the topic area. We make sure we know the ins and outs. We gather information on competitors and gain inspiration.

We figure out how to go about building our project. Determine what we need to complete the build and identify our aims and objectives for the project. We ask lots of questions and plot a milestone or two.

With a nailed-down strategy in place, we begin designing wireframes. We then move onto creating detailed mock-ups. We refine our ideas and when our concept takes shape, we begin building.

This stage often runs alongside the design process. Using cutting edge technologies we begin hand-crafting gorgeous markup. A few pixels are pushed around hither and thither too.

Additional bells and whistles are attached and we user test our work. When it's all looking the part we flick the on switch and sit down to three well deserved jars of Guinness.
