#buildconf

The first installment in the 'Tweets From...' series began in November when superstars of the web arrived in Belfast to speak at Build Conference. Over the course of the week there was a screening of Objectified, an evening with Airside, workshops by ClearLeft and the Standardistas, and on the day of the conference we had Eric Meyer, Wilson Miner, Ryan Sims, Andy Budd, Mark Boulton and Tim Van Damme speaking. What better way to capture all of this but through the avenue of Twitter, hence Tweets From Build.

After seeing tweet aggregators for web conferences like A Feed Apart and Tweets From FOWA we thought it would be a good idea to have something similar for Build so we teamed up with Elliott Kember. Elliot helped by doing some crazy back-end ruby-on-rails magic and we knocked up a design. TFB served as a hub for all the Build attendees to track the progress of others attending simply by adding #buildconf to tweets.

#belgcamp

Belgcamp was a small, 3-day gathering of web geeks in Belgium, made possible by Paddy Donnelly, Tim Van Damme and David Parsons. Some of the attendees included Sam Brown, Elliot Jay Stocks, and our very own Standardistas. Again, we had a similar idea and took it upon ourselves to create an aggregator for all the tweets at Belgcamp. As the Belgian beer began to flow the usage of the #belgcamp hashtag and the number of 'OHs' (overheards) began to increase leaving us a hilarious documentation of the 3 day event.

It wouldn't be a geek meet-up if there weren't plenty of DSLRs snapping away. Here's the (sometimes dodgy) photographs from the Belgcamp Flickr pool.

The super talented Tim Potter brought along some cameras to Belgcamp to document some of the madness that went on. This is the Revenge of the Cossack Hat.
